What does “Benedic, Domine, Nos” mean?

Benedic, Domine, nos et haec tua dona, quae de tua largitate sumus sumpturi, per Christum Dominum nostrum. Amen.

“Benedic, Domine, Nos” is actually more familiar than you might think . . . it’s Latin for “Bless us, O Lord,” and the beginning of the Blessing before Meals.

I thought it was an especially appropriate name for a blog dedicated to traditional Catholicisim (because it’s Latin, after all!), and to Catholic family living, simply because many Catholic families pray this prayer three times a day, so it’s a perfect example of the sacred mingling with the familiar and the ordinary!
